Women officers to get permanent commission in the army

The Ministry of Defense has issued a formal government approval letter to give permanent commission to women officers in the Indian Army. This has opened the way for giving greater responsibility to women officers in the army. By this order, the permanent commission can be given to women officers of Small Service Commission in ten branches of the army. These branches include Army Air Defense, Signals, Engineers, Army Aviation, Electronics and Mechanical Engineers, Army Service Corps, Army Ordnance Corps and Intelligence Corps. The woman is being given a permanent commission in the Judge and Advocate General and Army Educational Corps.

According to official sources, the Army Headquarters has initiated necessary action to conduct the permanent commission selection board for women officers. The Selection Board will take action to give permanent commission to the women officers and complete the other process at the earliest.

Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar has congratulated the government today for allowing permanent commission for women officers in ten branches of the army. In a tweet, she said that this is the real empowerment of women.
