Music director singer Wajid khan leaves behind distressing news for the entire Bollywood music industry to mourn a lifetime. The gem passed away at 42 on Sunday in Mumbai due to cardiac arrest as he suffered COVID-19 and previously had the renal illness.
Wajid khan’s final rites took place on Monday at the Versova Kabrastan in Mumbai. Brother Sajid Khan with few of his loved ones and actor Aditya Pancholi attended Wajid’s funeral, while many other Bollywood B’s expressed their painful demise through their social media handlers.
The news was first confirmed by the two music legends Sonu Nigam and Salim Merchant. Sonu Nigam took to his Instagram handle posting, “My brother Wajid left us.”, while music composer Salim Merchant tweeted, “He had multiple issues. He had a kidney issue and had a transplant a while ago. But recently he got to know about kidney infection… He was on the ventilator for the last four days, after his situation started getting worse. Kidney infection was the beginning and then he got critical.”
Many others including Priyanka Chopra Jonas bid her sad demise through Twitter, as she wrote, “Terrible news. The one thing I will always remember is Wajid bhai’s laugh. Always smiling. Gone too soon. My condolences to his family and everyone grieving. Rest in peace, my friend. You are in my thoughts and prayers. @wajidkhan7.”
While Amitabh Bachan tweeted “T 3548 – Shocked at the passing of Wajid Khan .. a bright smiling talent passes away .. duas, prayers and in the condolence.”
The music industry too showed their piece of condolence. As Palak Mucchal wrote on Twitter, “Deeply saddened to hear about the passing of #WajidKhan sir, who had been an integral part of my journey since the very beginning!” while Shankar Mahadevan posted on Instagram, a picture of Wajid hugging him from behind as the two shared their happy moment, as he wrote, “This is so so unfair! I just can’t come to terms with this! Will miss you my dear brother .. prayers for a peaceful journey ahead .. love you Wajid Bhai”; Adnan Sami tweeted I’m shocked!! I’ve lost a dear brother Wajid! I can’t come to grips with this tragic news… He was such a beautiful soul.”
And many other prominent music figures and celebrities mourned and bid a tearful adieu to the applauded musician of the Sajid-Wajid Jodi counting Harshdeep Kaur, Tulsi Kumar, Jeet Ganguly, actor Varun Dhawan, daisy shah, Karan Johar, Farah khan, Arbaaz khan, Parineeti Chopra, Bipasha Basu and the number just continues as the sorrow hit real hard.
The music composer and singer Wajid khan were well known for his works in greatest hits of Salman khan’s Dabang, Tere Naam, Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, and Ek Tha Tiger. Wajid also gave his voice to songs such as Jalwa, Fevicol Se, and Hud Hud Dabang.
Wajid khan along with his brother Sajid khan judged the reality show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa and had always served as a spurred mentor of the show, and inspired the young voices of India.
