Sania wins ‘Fed Cup Heart Award’, donates cash prize to Telangana CM’s relief fund

Sania Mirza on Monday became the first Indian to win ‘Fed Cup Heart Award’ and donated the award money to Telangana CM’s relief fund. She won the award with 60% of votes from global fans.

Winners of the ‘Fed Cup Heart Award’ were announced on the basis of voting conducted by the association for a week starting from 1st May.

A statement of Sania mirza was issued by All India Tennis Association saying “Its an honour to win the ‘Fed Cup Heart’ award as the first Indian. I dedicate this award to the entire country and to all my fans and thank everyone for voting me. I hope to bring more laurels to the country in the future.”

“I Want to donate the award money to the Telangana Chief Minister’s Relief Fund as the world is going through very difficult times with the virus,” She further added.

The prize for winners from each category was USD 2000, Sania sets an example by donating the award money for coronavirus pandemic.
