Covid-19: New guidelines issued regarding Aarogya Setu App

Central Government has announced some new guidelines regarding Aarogya Setu App on Monday, and the person who violates any of its guidelines will be jailed is also added.

According to the new policies of the app not more than 180 days of data can be stored. On the user’s appeal, the record of Aarogya Setu App has to be removed within 30 days

“A better data privacy policy has been made so that personal data is not misused,”. said Ajay Prakash Sahni, Secretary, Ministry of Electronics and IT. The new policies only allow the collection of demographic, contact, self-assessment and location data of the infected. As per Sections 51 to 60 of the Disaster Management Act, 2005 violations of any policy may lead to penalties and other legal actions.

Mandatory having Aarogya Setu App on smartphones for aeroplane passengers

After the lockdown, it may be mandatory for air travellers to install the Arogya Setu App. Officials said that policies are being made with airlines to make the app mandatory for air travellers. If this proposal is approved in the Ministry of Aviation, then passengers who won’t have an app installed on their smartphones will not be allowed to board the aircraft.
