FM Nirmala Sitharaman issued a statement for the third trance of the economic package, providing relief to agriculture and allied industries.
1 lakh crore set for agricultural infrastructure development, under which cold chains and post-harvest infrastructure will be set. She also proclaimed an Rs. 10,000 crore scheme for systematisation of micro food enterprise (MFE). The scheme will assist 2 lakh MFEs by acquiring cluster-based outlook.
Finance minister says; “Ample choice for farmers to sell produce at an interesting rate, and also with easy access for interstate trade will be in central law in the coming days. By amending the essential commodity act 1955, agriculture products which will also include cereals, edible oil, pulses, onion and potatoes will be de-regulated.”
She further states that; “800-hectare area for the development of a corridor of medical plants along the banks of river Ganga, by national medicinal plants. 500 crore set for the scheme on infrastructure development facilitating beekeeping centres, collection, marketing and storage centres, post-harvest and value addition facilities.
It leads 5000 crore income generation for farmers. 4000 crore for the promotion of herbal cultivation. Animal husbandry infrastructure development fund of Rs 15,000 crore will be set up, says finance minister.
In the light of these diseases, FM announces 13,343 crores for National Animal Disease Control Programme. 55 lakh people will be employed with a Rs 20,000 crore scheme for fisherman called Pradhan Mantri Sampada Yojana.
“In the last 2 months numbers of measures have been taken to facilitate the farmers and this fund will address the infrastructural issue for agricultural startups,” says FM Nirmala Sitharaman in a press conference.
